2018 Young Composer Workshops
Summit Music and Arts is excited to announce a series of workshops for young composers under the instruction of SMA Artist in Residence and Artistic Director Len Rhodes. The 2018 workshops will be Saturdays - 1/27, 2/10, 2/24 (with composer Ofer Ben-Amots), 3/10 and 3/17 from 1:30-4:30pm.
Students can attend any/all of the workshops once the registration fee is processed. Names will be added to a registration sheet.
These workshops are free and open to young musicians (ages 10-18) who are composing original music already, or want to learn how to compose. The workshops will address all aspects of composition for solo instruments and small ensembles; as well as providing opportunity for new compositions to be performed. These workshops are a response to many requests for help from young musicians wanting to develop their composition skills.
Registration is required with a one-time $10 administration fee. Workshop attendees will receive a $10 credit toward a composition entry in the 2018 Young Composer Competition. When placing order, please add name(s) of student in "Add a note to your order" in your Cart.
This is the only fee due - the workshops are entirely free due to the generous support of the Slifer, Smith and Frampton Foundation and the Summit County Rotary. The workshops will be held in the Strong Classroom, Silverthorne Performing Arts Center, 460 Blue River Pkwy, Silverthorne, CO 80498. Questions can be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org
